A house drawn for one family, one site, and one way of living. Nothing off a shelf.
We start on the land, not on paper. Where the sun lands in February, where the wind comes from, where the ledge is, what the town will let you do. Then we draw, and we keep drawing until the plan is right, because a line moved in the studio costs a pencil and a line moved on site costs a month. When the drawings are done we build them ourselves, with our own carpenters and the same eleven subcontractors we have used for a decade.
